Following my email yesterday we have now been advised that the bowling greens at Buckingham Park will be open for play from Wednesday 20th May. This will be for roll-ups only no competitive/friendly matches, in line with other clubs our friendlies are on hold until at least 1st July 2020.
The Government guidelines state that outdoor facilities should only be used alone, with members of your household, or with one other person from outside your household, while keeping two metres apart at all times. This does not include protected groups which unfortunately at this point in time excludes those who are being shielded however as the updated guidelines state with regard to the over 70’s with no underlying conditions with great care you are now permitted to exercise but obviously this is a personal choice.
As a club we are endeavouring as much as practically possible to keep everyone safe whilst being able to get out on the greens and enjoy bowling, we are putting various measures in place to ensure this happens as follows:-
1)To limit numbers 3 greens will be available for those who wish to use them and we have a booking system in place for the following slots each day -10:15 – 12:15, 12:30 – 2:30, 2:45 – 4:45 and 5:00-6:30. To book a time please contact Dave Page by email – firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone 01273 882648 or 07547 544140.
2) There is a 15 minute gap between sessions to allow the previous group to clear before the next bowlers arrive.
3) Toilets with handwashing will be available but the clubhouse will not be in use therefore you may wish to bring a drink with you.
4) Hand sanitising gels will be available but please bring your own if you have some as it is in short supply, also bring PPE such as gloves, masks if you feel happier wearing them.
Please be aware that you must book a slot and this is not a free for all to just turn up and bowl, it is imperative that we stick to the guidelines or we will be closed down.
If you have any queries please contact myself or Captains Dave Page & Brenda Page.
